Job summary

National Strategic Research Institute (NSRI) is seeking a Field Team Lead to plan, coordinate, and execute overseas technical deployments for DoD/USG sponsors. You will lead a two-person deployment team, serve as the senior in-country NSRI representative, and coordinate with government and embassy personnel across multiple regions.

This role requires 60 days deployed overseas followed by 30 days at home station, with frequent international travel to Indo-Pacific, Europe, Africa, and other

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business, Engineering, Military Science, Project Management, IT, Homeland Security, or related).
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience with U.S. Government/DoD/IC programs.
  • 5+ years leading operational teams or comparable government organizations.
  • Experience coordinating with senior U.S. government officials, Embassy personnel, and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for extended rotational deployments (60 days overseas / 30 days home).

Responsibilities

  • Lead a two-person overseas deployment team (Field Team Lead and RF Field Scientist).
  • Serve as NSRI's senior in-country representative with in-country U.S. Government and military personnel.
  • Coordinate mission activities with NSRI leadership and sponsors.
  • Plan, oversee deployment, installation, operation, sustainment, troubleshooting, and recovery of sensing systems.
  • Prepare operational updates, briefings, SITREPs, and mission status reports for leaders and sponsors.
  • Maintain accountability for mission execution, personnel safety, equipment, and readiness.
  • Coordinate logistical support including lodging, transport, communications, and equipment.)
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Government security, safety, and host-nation requirements.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation for uninterrupted mission support.
  • Maintain deployment documentation, logs, inventories, and after-action reports.
  • Represent NSRI with discretion and foster relationships with government customers and partners.
  • Support mission planning, pre-deployment training, and post-deployment lessons learned.
  • Operate independently in remote, austere environments with limited supervision.
  • Elevate major issues to the Director when needed.
  • Perform additional duties to support NSRI field operations.
