Job summary

IDEXX Laboratories, Inc seeks a Global Resource Planning Manager to lead a 6-person team in forecasting, scheduling, and coverage across regions. You will drive automation, coach staff, and modernize how resource planning operates in a dynamic customer support environment.

You will partner with HR and operations, manage performance, and deliver KPI-driven insights while aligning short-term plans with longer-term capacity strategies. Role demands strong leadership and adaptability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in workforce management, resource or scheduling planning, or operations, including direct people leadership experience.
• Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop a team.
• Track record of challenging existing ways of working and leading process improvement, automation, or modernization initiatives.
• Comfort operating in a constantly changing environment, with resilience and flexibility to adapt.
• Confidence exploring and adopting new technologies, including AI, and openness to bringing new tools into the team's workflows.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, staffing coverage models, and real-time staffing management.
• Experience partnering with global or cross-regional teams across time zones.
• Analytical skills to interpret coverage, adherence, and KPI data and turn insights into action.
• Experience with workforce management or scheduling systems; knowledge of NICE or other WFM software preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to respond quickly to daily staffing changes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a global team of 4 Resource Planners and 2 Operations Analysts.
• Foster a cohesive, collaborative team culture across regions.
• Guide the team through process and system changes and continuous change readiness.
• Identify opportunities to modernize resource planning processes, tools, and workflows.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.
• Own short-term forecasting and translate forecasts into global scheduling strategy.
• Ensure day-to-day coverage and address last-minute gaps to protect service levels.
• Deliver accurate reporting and KPI visibility on staffing, scheduling, and coverage.
• Collaborate with long-term Forecasting and Capacity Planning to align plans.
• Serve as escalation point for staffing gaps and cross-regional conflicts.
• Standardize resource planning practices across regions.
• Partner with Operations, HR, and leaders on staffing strategy and headcount planning.
