Weatherford in Houston seeks a Global Cost Optimization and Repair Manager to drive cross-functional cost-saving initiatives across Product Lines, starting with Drilling Services. You will lead repair, redesign, and sourcing efforts to reduce cost, extend asset life, and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, business.
• 10+ years of progressive experience across engineering, advanced manufacturing, R&M, supply chain, operations, cost optimization, or technical program leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional cost-reduction initiatives and deliver measurable financial and operational outcomes in a global, matrixed organization.
• Strong understanding of engineering, manufacturing, repair, sourcing, supplier qualification, quality, and operational performance drivers.
• Demonstrated experience developing or strengthening business processes, workflows, scorecards, and operating practices in environments where requirements, systems, or ownership were not fully established.
• Strong analytical and financial acumen to develop business cases, evaluate technical and commercial data, prioritize opportunities, and track value realization.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across functions, cultures, Product Lines, and geographies.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, adapt priorities, and convert evolving business needs into practical actions and sustainable improvements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP, engineering, repair-tracking, catalogue, workflow, and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintains governance, ensuring activities comply with HSE, quality, and company policies.
• Leads cost optimization strategy development and translates it into cross-product-line initiatives.
• Builds and manages a cross-product-line pipeline of cost optimization and repair initiatives.
• Identifies high-cost or constrained components and develops repair, redesign, sourcing, or process-improvement solutions.
• Leads cross-functional initiatives from concept through deployment with milestones, risks, and value realization.
• Monitors savings, quality, reliability, and supplier performance, driving corrective actions.
