Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Global Real Estate Financial Controller, Associate to ensure GAAP-based accounting for capital project expenditures and to perform month-end close with strong controls across a global organization.

You will analyze variances, prepare journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and support audit activities while coordinating with partners across the firm. This role offers exposure to senior leaders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors' degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years of related experience.
• General ledger, financial reporting and month-end close experience.
• Comfortable liaising with business and finance partners.
• Ability to multi-task, work collaboratively and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to influence middle and front office partners to deliver solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly general ledger close and accounting processes, reporting, and analysis including preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
• Financial review on capital project expenditures to ensure treatment is appropriate and in accordance with GAAP and Firm policies, including timely recording of fixed assets.
• Ensure the accuracy and validity of the line of business general ledger accounts, including adherence to the firmwide General Ledger Reconciliation & Substantiation standards.
• Analyze, communicate, and resolve material variances between the general ledger and upstream systems.
• Provide timely and accurate financial information to management.
• Support internal and external audit activities and inquiries.
• Develop and maintain effective communication with management team and business partners.
• Perform ad hoc analysis, reporting or other responsibilities as assigned by manager.
