Job Description:

The opportunity

In this role, you will be responsible for defining the roadmap proposal and leading the execution of various programs within Power Transformers Technology. You will serve as the main point of contact for each Program team, ensuring alignment across programs. You will act as the primary representative of the Power Transformers Technology Manager in discussions, reporting directly to them. Candidates should expect to travel up to 20% globally based on R&D team needs.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Lead the preparation and execution of the roadmap for all core Programs, ensuring alignment with other functions.
  • Coordinate with Design Platform Manager, R&D team managers, and R&D Project Management Office to review project and resource planning annually. Assess hiring needs across Programs.
  • Provide regular updates to the Power Transformers Technology Manager.
  • Represent the Power Transformers Technology Manager in project decision meetings when appropriate.
  • Ensure effective interaction and alignment among different Programs.
  • Lead the management of Intellectual Property generated by the Programs, balancing IP protection, coverage, and costs.
  • Support monthly cost reporting and the preparation of annual and multi-year budgets, especially regarding Program needs.
  • Review and approve (when delegated) Technical Standards and R&D reports from Programs.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity by taking responsibility for your actions and caring for colleagues and the business.

Your background

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a relevant field is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of proven experience and knowledge in Power Transformers Technology.
  • Project and/or Program Management experience and skills are highly valued.
  • Willingness to work remotely in a diverse environment.
  • Willingness to travel to collaborate with R&D teams as needed.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
