Job summary

Stanton Carpet Corporation in Calhoun, GA seeks a strategic and technical Director of Quality Control to lead a global supplier management program and ensure product quality from source to customer.

You will drive QMS development, oversee audits (ISO 9001), and implement CAPA using Six Sigma/Lean. This role manages QC staff, supplier scorecards, and quality metrics across carpets, rugs, and hard surfaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or related field.
• 8 to 10+ years of hands-on quality control/assurance management experience.
• Strong understanding of carpet manufacturing processes (woven & nonwoven).
• Experience with hard surface manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and QA software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to train staff.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a strategic team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) to track, report, and resolve quality issues across all product lines.
• Oversee internal and external audits to ensure ISO 9001 and accrediting body compliance.
• Drive risk avoidance through vetting of product quality and adherence to standards.
• Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships; monitor performance and audits.
• Develop data-driven supplier scorecards to measure quality performance.
• Lead vetting for global suppliers to ensure fitness-for-use criteria.
• Direct testing procedures and inspections for materials and products.
• Lead CAPA efforts using Six Sigma or Lean to eliminate defects.
• Report quality metrics to executives and regulatory agencies.
