Job summary

Plastpro, located in Los Angeles, CA, seeks a Purchasing Supervisor to oversee day-to-day purchasing operations, coordinate material orders, and supervise the purchasing team. You will manage supplier relationships and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining accurate purchasing records to support manufacturing needs.

You will negotiate terms, monitor lead times, and collaborate with internal teams. Mandarin proficiency is valuable for Asia-based suppliers.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain for manufacturing.
• Experience supervising purchasing staff or teams.
• Experience with international suppliers, especially China/Taiwan, desirable.
• Mandarin proficiency strongly preferred for supplier communications.
• Experience creating and managing purchase orders and tracking deliveries.
• Strong supplier communication and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing & material orders: manage daily purchasing of materials, equipment, supplies; coordinate orders from China/Taiwan; review requisitions; issue and manage purchase orders; monitor open POs and lead times; ensure on‑time material arrival; communicate changes to suppliers; coordinate with internal teams.
• Supplier & vendor management: maintain supplier relationships; communicate pricing, availability, lead times, order status; assist with negotiations; handle claims, returns, and quality issues.
• Inventory & purchasing analysis: monitor inventory needs; review historical data; analyze pricing/trends; use Excel for reports; track quantities and delivery status; identify shortages and communicate risks.
• Team supervision: supervise purchasing staff; assign and prioritize tasks; review work; train on procedures; provide feedback; assist with evaluations.
• Process improvement & administration: maintain records; identify inefficient processes; support ERP/purchasing system improvements; ensure compliance with policies; support special projects.
