Job summary

Cohere, a leading security-first enterprise AI company, seeks a Global Public Policy Manager to lead policy engagement on compute infrastructure, export controls, AI competitiveness, and sovereign AI strategies. This role oversees policy positions and partnerships with governments to advance Cohere’s strategic public-private initiatives.

The role focuses on national AI strategies, digital sovereignty, and energy policy, with collaboration across product, commercial, and government relations

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in public policy, technology policy, trade policy, energy policy, national security policy, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of geopolitical technology issues, AI infrastructure, export controls, or digital sovereignty.
• Ability to assess emerging policy developments and identify strategic business implications.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze developments related to AI infrastructure, data centers, energy policy, semiconductor policy, export controls, and national AI strategies.
• Develop policy positions on sovereign AI, compute access, digital sovereignty, and AI competitiveness.
• Support engagement with governments developing AI infrastructure investment programs and national AI initiatives.
• Collaborate with commercial, product, and corporate development teams on strategic opportunities involving public-private partnerships.
• Represent Cohere in policy discussions related to AI infrastructure, energy requirements, and technology competitiveness.
• Produce policy analysis and thought leadership on AI infrastructure and sovereign AI trends.
