This role oversees policy positions and partnerships with governments to advance Cohere’s strategic public-private initiatives.

The role focuses on national AI strategies, digital sovereignty, and energy policy, with collaboration across product, commercial, and government relations

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in public policy, technology policy, trade policy, energy policy, national security policy, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of geopolitical technology issues, AI infrastructure, export controls, or digital sovereignty.
• Ability to assess emerging policy developments and identify strategic business implications.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder engagement skills.

About The Role

Cohere is seeking a Global Public Policy Manager to lead policy engagement on compute infrastructure, export controls, AI competitiveness, and sovereign AI strategies. Governments increasingly view AI as critical national infrastructure and are investing heavily in compute capacity, energy resources, and domestic AI ecosystems.

This role will help position Cohere as a trusted partner in emerging discussions around AI infrastructure, national competitiveness, and sovereign AI deployment.

Compensation

Cohere is committed to fair and transparent pay practices. The salary range listed for this role reflects the expected base compensation. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

  • For candidates in New York, California, Washington States, the Compensation Range is : $190,000 – $230,000 [USD]
  • For Candidates in rest of the states, the Compensation Range is : $150,000 – $180,000 [USD]
• Canada
  • $215,000 - $260,000 [CAD]
