Job summary

TikTok is seeking an experienced Global Public Interest Law Counsel based in Washington DC to join our Global Legal Compliance team. You will lead regulatory responses related to political activity, lobbying disclosures, ESG compliance, and CSR initiatives across multiple jurisdictions.

This fast-paced role requires strong risk assessment, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to provide timely guidance to internal stakeholders on government engagements and sustainability topics.

Qualifications

• Qualified to practice law in the U.S.
• 5+ years of relevant experience across government, private practice and/or in-house.
• Understanding ESG regulations, standards and frameworks, as well as political laws.
• Ability to independently identify and evaluate legal and reputational risk in business contexts.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration with leadership, internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Strong legal and business judgment, strategic thinking and multi-matter management.

Responsibilities

• Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, complaints and audits involving political activities.
• Oversee compliance reviews for ongoing lobbying disclosures in multiple jurisdictions.
• Advise on ESG reporting, governance and due diligence obligations.
• Support CSR and sustainability partnerships and agreements.
• Monitor ESG and political law developments across jurisdictions and collaborate with teams.
• Develop and implement political law and ESG compliance policies and controls.
• Provide counsel for CSR partnerships and employee engagement programs.
• Evaluate engagements with government entities, sponsorships, donations and lobbying firms.
• Create compliance training and communications plans; train and inform stakeholders.
• Provide timely legal advice on political law and sustainability topics.
• Undertake special projects and support other compliance initiatives.
