Job summary

Perry Ellis International is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to manage its global Proxmox-based virtualization stack. You will be the primary architect of Proxmox environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security while partnering with MIS teams on deployments and disaster recovery planning.

You will drive capacity planning, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship of junior staff, delivering scalable, robust infrastructure in a dynamic retail tech landscape.

Qualifications

• 3+ years managing Proxmox DataCenter environments in enterprise settings.
• Experience integrating hypervisors with iSCSI SAN infrastructure.
• Solid Linux/Debian backgrounds with scripting ability.
• Strong understanding of high availability and load balancing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and manage Proxmox VE and PBS deployments globally.
• Collaborate with Storage and Networking teams to plan and execute changes.
• Monitor capacity and optimize hardware use balancing cost and needs.
• Ensure security, documentation, vendor patches, and disaster recovery testing.
• Manage server hardware lifecycle and replacements as needed.
• Provision and configure VMs across multiple operating systems.
• Prioritize and manage multiple IT projects; mentor junior admins.
• Translate complex technical concepts for stakeholders with varying expertise.
