Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Project Controls Specialist to support services projects across the U.S. You will develop complex schedule and cost baselines, analyze monthly data, and integrate risk reserves into forecasts.

The role requires collaboration with project teams and senior management while upholding safety and procedural standards. The candidate will manage planning, tracking, and reporting for moderate to high complexity projects, employing Earned Value Management and variance

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts.
• Demonstrates knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities as well as understanding of project finance, accounting or business administration.
• Ability to interpret construction documents, drawings and specs to plan execution and schedules.
• Expert level knowledge of Primavera P6 for integrated schedules.
• Proficient in using Project Performance tools (EcoSys).

Responsibilities

• Develops time-phased project cost and resource forecasts; validates project costs.
• Monitors progress of project deliverables and actual expenditures vs forecasts.
• Performs Earned Value Management (EVM) and prepares client and internal status reports.
• Provides guidance and training to junior staff; may supervise junior engineers.
• Ensures compliance with internal procedures and federal/government regulations.
