Job summary

Mattel, Inc. is seeking a Development Program Management Associate II to join our Product Development team at our El Segundo campus.

You will help manage projects from concept through production, in collaboration with a worldwide, cross-functional team including Design, Development, Marketing, and Manufacturing. Qualifications

• BA/ BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial) or related discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant project management experience.
• Strong ability to juggle multiple projects and make quick decisions.
• Comfortable leading cross-functional teams.
• Excellent organizational skills are must.
• Experience with systems and data entry.
• Relationship-building and customer-facing skills.
• Growth mindset with curiosity and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple projects of varying product types and complexities while maintaining cost and schedule targets.
• Collaborate closely with overseas development, tooling, and manufacturing to ensure successful project completion.
• Troubleshoot production level samples and suggest fixes to defects and improve mechanisms.
• Develop, maintain and drive schedule execution of worldwide products.
• Act as liaison between El Segundo teams and overseas locations across the product life cycle.
• Review concept sketches and provide support for products in the early design phase.
• Work with external development sources to engineer the product.
• Manage project schedules and product costs.
• Collaborate in a team environment with Design, Packaging, Product Integrity, Marketing, Planning, Cost Engineering, Model Shop, Electrical Engineering, Materials Lab, Sculpting, plants and offshore sources.
• Develop cost estimates and provide cost/financial analyses for different products.
• Analyze product design to maximize material/utilization while meeting cost and quality specs.
• Examine product components for purpose, cost and value using design and budget knowledge.
• Guide cross-functional teams to optimize content and features within price and margin constraints.
