Job summary

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a Lead Buying/Procurement Specialist to manage the purchasing process for assigned goods and serve as the liaison between vendors and production lines. You will resolve day-to-day vendor issues and support the team with purchasing strategies.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of purchasing experience and demonstrated success in international buying, with strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills to drive cost reductions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or materials.
• Proven experience in international/global buying.

Responsibilities

• Place and follow-up on Purchase Orders
• Communicate Deliveries to Internal Customers
• Analyze Vendor Promises and expedite when required
• Manage through Schedule Changes and Purchase Order changes
• Own and resolve day-to-day vendor issues (AP, NCMR, Delivery)
• Maintain daily standard work and achieve weekly fulfillment metrics
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sourcing and Quality to resolve material issues
• Balance tactical execution with strategic cost-reduction initiatives
• Participate in supplier performance reviews
• Track and present KPIs to upper management
• Present on Critical Part Review meetings when needed
• Suggest improvements to standard work and daily activities
