Job summary

Austin Powder is seeking a Global SHES Manager - Chemicals to serve as the technical authority for Process Safety Management across our chemical footprint. You will drive the deployment, standardization, and continuous improvement of process safety, ensuring hazardous processes are designed, operated, and maintained under a disciplined system protecting people and the environment.

You will provide global SHES support for AN, ammonia, and nitric acid, expanding to related plants.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry, Safety Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of ten years of experience in process safety, SHES, or process engineering in chemical manufacturing.
Expert working knowledge of the fourteen OSHA PSM elements (29 CFR 1910.119).
Experience with HAZOP, What-If, LOPA, FMEA, root cause analysis, MOC, PSSR, and mechanical integrity programs.
Proficiency in English; Spanish is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

Serve as global SHES technical reference for process safety matters.
Support new plant projects from concept through commissioning, embedding inherently safer design.
Develop and deliver technical training on process safety for operators, technicians, engineers, and leaders.
Drive SHES data collection, analysis, and reporting for chemical operations.
Interface with regulators, insurers, auditors, and external technical bodies.
Lead cross-functional, multicultural collaboration and accountability to standards.
