Job summary

Eastman Chemical Company is seeking an experienced Chemical Engineer to support manufacturing, pilot plant, and lab-scale process improvements and scale-up. The role is based near Eastman’s large sites (Kingsport, TN or Longview, TX) with global travel to Eastman sites worldwide.

Responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams, conducting production trials, and applying DOE methods to optimize processes while prioritizing safety and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience related to manufacturing support, process development, or process improvement.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Ability to engage with external parties, suppliers, customers, etc.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote or onsite support to Eastman’s global manufacturing sites; travel >50% and may require relocations.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to drive process improvement projects and initiatives.
• Propose and execute production trials and tests on lab, pilot, and manufacturing scales using design of experiment methodology.
• Use a data-driven approach to troubleshoot daily operational issues with operations and maintenance teams.
