Spring Health is seeking a VP, Privacy Officer to own the US and global privacy strategy. You will lead a privacy program across compliance, security, product, and engineering, guiding risk-based decisions in a fast-growing health-tech environment. This remote-friendly role favors NYC-area candidates with periodic travel to NYC HQ.

You will mentor a privacy team, navigate HIPAA, GDPR, and CPRA, and shape policies while enabling AI-driven innovation with rigorous data protection and trust.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
• 12+ years of legal experience, with 8+ years in data privacy, security and healthcare law.
• Proven track record building and scaling privacy teams in a global tech environment.
• Deep expertise in HIPAA/HITECH, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and LGPD/PIPEDA.
• Professional privacy certifications and ability to translate requirements for non-legal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as US Privacy and Global Data Protection Officer, leading privacy programs.
• Mentor the privacy legal team to align US and Global operations.
• Develop compliant strategies at the intersection of healthcare privacy and AI.
• Architect a scalable privacy framework for international expansion and GDPR/HIPAA compliance.
• Advise on privacy implications of emerging technologies and AI in clinical settings.
• Oversee privacy risk assessments and Privacy by Design in product lifecycles.
• Direct incident response, regulatory relationships, and breach notification.
• Collaborate with Sales to support complex Fortune 500 negotiations.
• Define and maintain external and internal privacy policies.
• Partner with People Team to protect employee data with equal rigor.
