Job summary

Appnovation is seeking a Principal Engineer to own the end-to-end technical coherence of an enterprise marketing technology ecosystem for life sciences clients. You will set a single technical direction across platform teams and ensure architectures, data contracts and roadmaps fit together as one system.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of software and platform engineering experience spanning organizational boundaries.
• Proven success aligning multiple roadmaps around shared data contracts and standards.
• Experience building in a regulated environment and getting it approved and live.
• Hands-on depth in applied AI: assistants/services, MCP, data traceability.
• Experience designing patient-facing or clinician-facing tech and care considerations.
• Experience integrating with partner platforms beyond control.
• Ability to lead without positional authority and build consensus.
• Excellent communication to senior leaders and cross-functional alignment.
• Deep knowledge across marketing tech stack areas.

Responsibilities

• Define and own one clear technical approach across content creation, governance and approval.
• Set shared standards for API contracts, metadata and taxonomy, data governance and security.
• Lead architecture reviews and RFCs across platform teams; document decisions.
• Own the technical strategy for end-to-end data traceability.
• Partner with client experience leaders to design AI-enabled experiences.
• Lead a reusable AI capabilities layer for delivery teams.
• Represent engineering to senior client leaders on trade-offs.
• Mentor senior engineers and raise the technical bar.
