Job summary

Northern Trust Corp in Chicago seeks an Embedded Practice Control Officer for Global Family Office to strengthen the control environment across practice areas. You will identify risk, articulate findings, and guide control improvements with cross-functional partners.

You will conduct process risk assessments, support thematic reviews, ensure policy compliance, and communicate recommendations in writing and verbally to control leadership.

Qualifications

• College or University degree is preferred.
• 7+ years of Risk & Control experience required.
• Financial services experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise and assist control leadership on implementing the control framework and ensure adherence to maintaining the control processes.
• Conduct process Risk Assessments for the practice areas and recommend improvements.
• Support the risk-based control test plan to identify excessive risk and control issues.
• Assist in planning and execution of thematic reviews to assure control effectiveness.
• Ensure current policies and procedures are in place and compliant with standards.
• Communicate findings and enhancement recommendations to control management.
• Support key control programs such as Audit Remediation, ASL, ATP Standards, etc.
• Promote a strong risk management culture within the business.
