Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Technical Category Manager, Plastics & Tooling, to develop and execute global strategies for plastic components, injection molding, tooling, and related manufacturing technologies. You will bridge Engineering, R&D, Operations, and Procurement to drive excellence across Abbott's businesses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Plastics Eng., Mechanical Eng., Manufacturing Eng., Materials Eng., Polymer Science, or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years in plastics engineering, injection molding, tooling, manufacturing, supplier management, procurement, or category management.
• Experience with injection molding processes, tool design, tooling validation, and plastic component manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement global category strategy for plastic components and tooling.
• Lead supplier strategy including market assessments and negotiations.
• Drive enterprise tooling strategy, governance, and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, Operations, Supplier Quality, and Procurement.
• Support NPI, supplier readiness, and supply continuity.
• Drive cost of ownership improvements through resin optimization and standardization.
