Job summary

ProMach is seeking a Payroll Director to lead the Payroll Department for U.S. and Canada, driving strategy, compliance, and cross‑functional initiatives.

You will oversee multi‑location payroll operations, manage acquisitions and technology integrations, and partner with HR and business leaders to resolve issues impacting employees. You’ll mentor a team, manage external vendors, and elevate payroll processes with a focus on scalability, accuracy, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 10+ years in payroll with leadership.
• 10+ years of progressive payroll experience with 3–5 years in Workday.
• Proven people leadership in payroll or related function.
• Experience handling diverse pay types (hourly, salaried, commissions, bonuses, equity).
• Strong knowledge of US/Canada payroll regulations and time reporting.
• Experience managing payroll across multiple locations (US/Canada).
• Solid understanding of Federal/State tax filing requirements.
• Strong project prioritization and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent customer service and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for payroll, long‑term planning and process improvement.
• Lead end-to-end payroll initiatives including acquisitions and tech integrations.
• Oversee payroll compliance activities with federal/state/local regulations.
• Ensure accurate and timely payroll operations, audits, controls, reporting.
• Partner with HR and leaders to align payroll with company goals.
• Mentor payroll team and manage vendor relationships.
