Blank Street in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to own and scale U.S. payroll operations while supporting our growing global business. You’ll manage end-to-end US payroll for exempt and non-exempt staff, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across jurisdictions, and partner with Finance, People, and Operations.

You’ll also support U.K. payroll and benefits administration, with potential to expand responsibilities as the role evolves.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Payroll, HR or a related field.
• 2–3 years of hands-on payroll experience in US and exposure to UK in a multi-entity environment.
• Payroll systems experience (ADP, Deel, Gusto, Workday, Rippling) and external payroll providers.

Responsibilities

• Own U.S. payroll processing for exempt and non-exempt staff, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate benefits administration and 401(k) plans in parallel with payroll.
• Reconcile payroll journals and assist with month-end close and audits.
• Support UK payroll and expand benefits responsibilities across US/UK over time.
• Develop and maintain payroll policies and internal controls.
