Job summary

Pockyt is hiring a Head of Payment Operations in New York to own how signed merchants and new payment flows become live, reliable money movement. You will ensure fast, clean execution and scale the operating models across corridors, rails, and accounts.

You’ll start hands-on, then grow into leading a team, partnering daily with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Finance, and Sales to deliver measurable improvements in speed, accuracy, and risk controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in payments operations, ideally at a PayFac, acquirer, or high-growth payments company.
• Deep fluency across the payments stack: acquiring, payouts, funding flows, reserves, disputes, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Cross-border expertise with Virtual Accounts, international payouts, multi-currency flows.
• A builder-operator profile: you execute with excellence today and architect the systems that scale for tomorrow.
• Proven ability to drive outcomes across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Finance, and commercial teams.
• Strong ownership and follow-through — you close loops, hit dates, and maintain a high bar.
• A senior, independent operator who can hold the function with minimal oversight.
• Excellent written and verbal communication — you’ll present to executives regularly and write the specs, playbooks, and post-mortems.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery end-to-end from intake through configuration to live, owning timelines and outcomes.
• Own merchant and payment configuration across merchants, rails, payouts, and Virtual Accounts.
• Run daily payment operations: transaction execution, global payouts, VA provisioning, funding, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Reduce operational risk by identifying failure points and implementing controls, monitoring, and escalation paths.
• Serve as the operational hub across the company: Product & Engineering, Compliance, Finance, and Sales.
• Translate merchant and corridor needs into clear specs and drive configuration and rail enablement.
• Partner with Compliance on approvals, reviews, and controls so new flows go live cleanly.
• Align with Finance on pricing configuration, funding, reconciliation, and settlement.
• Accelerate onboarding and activation for new merchants and support the revenue team with timelines.
• Build the operating layer: SOPs, runbooks, and controls for repeatable excellence.
• Define the metrics that matter and use them to raise the bar.
• Grow the function by building and leading a team as the model scales.
