Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Associate Director for Strategic Planning and Operations within Global Patient Safety (GPS) to partner with the VP and the GPS Executive Leadership Team. You will translate priorities into actionable plans, drive the GPS operating rhythm, and ensure disciplined execution across GPS teams.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience
• Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience
• Associate’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience
• High school diploma with 14+ years of relevant experience
• Experience leading Strategic Planning and Operations teams in a complex setting

Responsibilities

• Serve as a thought partner to GPS leadership, shaping priorities and translating strategy into action
• Lead SPO colleagues across GPS to ensure aligned priorities and consistent execution
• Manage GPS operating rhythm, leadership meetings, business reviews, and performance updates
• Prepare senior leadership discussions with clear objectives, decisions, and tradeoffs
• Develop executive-level narratives and presentations for senior audiences
• Drive accountability with defined owners, milestones, dependencies, and escalation
• Collaborate with GPS, R&D SPO, HR, Finance to align GPS priorities with enterprise goals
• Lead annual and multi-year planning, financial planning, and resource allocation for GPS
• Drive key GPS initiatives, process improvements, and operating model enhancements
• Support GPS communications, change management, and executive messaging
• Support PV system readiness and QPPV activities as needed
