Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics is seeking an experienced Packaging Lead to manage external CMOs, drive technology transfer and ensure compliance with global packaging standards. This role coordinates cross-functional teams, reviews deviations, and maintains packaging specifications and BOMs for multiple product types.

The candidate will partner with Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing, supporting lifecycle management and continuous improvement across global networks, with travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; 4+ years in packaging/CMO operations.
• Master’s degree; 2+ years in packaging/CMO operations preferred.
• Experience with cGMP, regulatory requirements and global packaging standards (USP/ISO/ASTM).
• Knowledge of serialization (DSCSA, EU FMD) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for routine commercial packaging operations at external CMOs, including deviations, complaints, investigations.
• Drive timely issue resolution to ensure product quality, regulatory compliance and continuity of supply; review deviations and CAPAs from external packaging site.
• Serve as primary technical contact for external contract packaging organizations and packaging component suppliers.
• Collaborate on manufacturability, scalability and packaging design for various dosage forms.
• Lead/support technology transfer for packaging processes from development to commercial manufacturing.
• Participate in/lead packaging process validation across global networks.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing and external partners to ensure uninterrupted supply.
• Represent Packaging & Labeling on CMC teams; support lifecycle management.
• Support leadership with resource planning and financial reporting.
• Review/approve specifications for packaging components; author BOMs and packaging instructions.
• Initiate change controls, deviations and CAPAs in QMS.
• Ensure compliance with cGMP and regulatory requirements; support regulatory submissions and audits.
