Job summary

Dell Technologies is seeking an Engineering Co‑op in Mech Eng/Material Science for its Franklin, MA site. You will perform Form/Fit/Function analysis on Dell hardware, conduct root-cause investigations, and use metrology tools to validate tolerances.

You’ll work with CAD tools, interpret engineering drawings, and support data-driven decisions. This paid co-op offers hands-on testing and exposure to manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Students currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Material Science or related majors.
• Strong interest in hardware design, function, and failure analysis; hands-on disassembly and inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and CAD models.

Responsibilities

• Perform Form/Fit/Function analysis of Dell hardware in lab and factory settings.
• Identify root causes of failures via destructive and non-destructive methods.
• Conduct precision dimensional inspections using metrology tools (CMM, 3D scanners, calipers).
• Use microscopes, 3D CT X-ray, SEM, and hardness testers to investigate quality issues.
• Deliver fast-turn analysis to support data-driven decisions and reduce risiko.
