This role plays a vital part in executing our new business strategy, which targets high-growth and high-margin markets. The director will focus on optimizing our product and asset portfolio, improving industrial performance at underperforming sites, and fostering operational excellence to drive revenue growth and margin improvement.

The role involves developing and implementing a GBU-wide manufacturing strategy and promoting a culture of operational excellence. Responsibilities include ensuring process safety, decarbonization, enhancing competitiveness through improved quality, efficiency, and delivery, and sharing best practices across manufacturing and supply chain operations.

The Thermal Ceramics Division operates under the principle of subsidiarity, performing only tasks that cannot be handled by regional units.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental policies across all manufacturing sites.
  2. Manage cost and performance reporting, promoting cost awareness and an optimization culture.
  3. Support the Thermal Executive team in driving operational improvements.
  4. Share best practices in manufacturing, supply chain, and operational methodologies.
  5. Define and implement sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.
  6. Coordinate and ensure the implementation of EHS activities and programs.
  7. Create best-in-class line designs, instrumentation, and configurations.
  8. Manage relationships with vendors of critical process equipment to maintain competitive advantage.
  9. Develop process technology roadmaps and oversee their implementation.
  10. Create and manage CAPEX and ESG investment plans aligned with strategic goals.
  11. Lead long-term planning for growth, capacity expansion, and global production optimization.
  12. Contribute manufacturing insights into global sourcing decisions.
  13. Maintain relevant ISO and IATF certifications.
  14. Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure integrated operations.
  15. Lead, mentor, and develop Regional Operations Directors and the global Operations team.
  16. Foster talent development through training, coaching, and leadership programs.
  17. Promote a collaborative and high-performance work environment aligned with company values.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience leading global manufacturing teams, ideally across multiple markets.
  • Strong strategic thinking and modeling skills.
  • Experience in developing and executing transformational strategies.
  • Effective coaching and people development abilities.
  • Experience managing remote teams.
  • Background in engineering or technical fields; MBA preferred.
  • Sound judgment, innovative problem-solving, resilience, and adaptability.
  • Proven track record of delivering programs and projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Alignment with the company's values of ambition, innovation, collaboration, and integrity.
