Job summary

AbbVie in the United States seeks a Director, Oncology, International Public Affairs to lead and shape international public affairs across oncology. You will guide advocacy, strategic communications, and market access efforts to accelerate patient access to innovative therapies.

Collaborating with Europe and Intercontinental teams, you will build trusted relationships with senior leaders, patient groups, and external stakeholders while mentoring a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in public affairs or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in communications, public affairs, journalism, or life sciences preferred.
• Experience leading therapeutic area public affairs with milestone communications.
• Experience across international markets preferred.
• Strong writing, executive presence and storytelling abilities.
• Ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of public affairs priorities for AbbVie's oncology portfolio.
• Partner with government affairs, market access, and medical teams to develop advocacy strategies.
• Set clear priorities across franchises to maximize impact.
• Collaborate with Europe and Intercontinental teams for international execution.
• Lead, manage, and develop a high-performing team.
• Represent AbbVie externally with patient organizations and media.
• Support a One AbbVie approach to pipeline development and leadership in oncology.
