Job summary

Fluence in Houston is seeking a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer to lead the introduction and ramp‑up of new contract manufacturing sites and production capabilities, in support of NPI programs. This role focuses on the manufacturing readiness process with external partners, defining production requirements, validating process capability, and ensuring a smooth prototype‑to‑production transition.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role.
Experience driving automation solutions for metal fabrication and component integration.
Hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly high volume, low‑mix.
Experience in a manufacturing NPI role preferred.
Knowledge of OEE and yield; ability to track KPIs.
Knowledge of APQP or stage gate release processes, ISO9001, TS16949, and global OEM systems.
Ability to travel to CM locations with little advanced notice.

Responsibilities

Introduction, development, and establishment of new contract manufacturing locations and new production capability.
Strategically execute NPI tasks related to design and launch of new manufacturing production capabilities.
Take ownership of the relationship and direction with CMs, monitoring progress to meet timelines.
Coordinate prototype manufacturing activities including prototyping, purchasing/logistics, schedule, budget.
Create and maintain AME deliverables related to new production such as PFD, PFMEA, QCP, manufacturing BOMs.
