Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Director, Global Neuroscience Communications & Public Affairs to shape and lead the global communications strategy for the Neuroscience portfolio. The role reports to the VP of Neuroscience Communications & Public Affairs and acts as the senior communications advisor to Neuroscience leadership.

The position requires a minimum of 15 years in communications/public affairs and the ability to influence across matrixed organizations, with travel up to 25–30%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience in communications or public affairs.
  • Experience leading communications for complex global pharmaceutical portfolios or therapeutic areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of global communications strategy for Neuroscience portfolio.
  • Advise Neuroscience leadership on external positioning, risk, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Shape the global narrative across disease areas, products, and platforms with clear differentiation.
  • Oversee strategy for launches, data readouts, lifecycle milestones, and growth brands.
  • Partner with Public Affairs to support market shaping, policy, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Guide integrated communications planning across media, issues management, congresses, campaigns, and executive visibility.
  • Align with regional leaders to adapt global strategy to Top 10 markets.
  • Anticipate and manage reputational risks with Enterprise and regional teams.
  • Build strong relationships with media, experts, advocacy groups, and policy influencers.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Neuroscience communications team.
