Job summary

Google LLC in the United States seeks a Network Implementation Engineer to drive deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks worldwide. You will coordinate with Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, and field vendors to position your team for success.

You will help build a highly reliable, scalable network for current and future customers globally, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering or Telecom Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience in DWDM or TCP/IP or system design operations methodology.
• 3 years of experience in carrier-class environments, including Layer 1 physical infrastructure (DWDM, AC/DC power, OSP/ISP) and Layer 2/3 networking (TCP/IP, routing).
• Experience working with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, vendors in telecommunications environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and QA installation technicians for rack, stack and installation of networking equipment.
• Commission and test routers, optical transport equipment, and other network devices in new and existing network nodes across Google's global network.
• Generate implementation plans and provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities.
• Collaborate closely with project management, network engineering and rest of the engineering team to identify in advance potential problems in network installations, including in the areas of facility power (AC/DC), cooling, security/access, rack layout and cable management.
• Own network documentation, updating and maintaining network drawings and plans.
