Job Overview
- Managing and growing Citi's relationships with the local subsidiaries of our multinational clients within the Global Network Banking (GNB) team.
- Deepening wallet penetration, driving revenue growth, and ensuring the seamless delivery of Citi's products and services within the local market.
- Building and nurturing trusted advisor relationships with key contacts at the client's local subsidiary through valuable insights and high‑quality engagement.
- Acting as a client‑facing banker with a deep understanding of the local operating environment and a strong track record of managing corporate client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Relationship Management
- Build and nurture trusted advisor relationships with key contacts at the client's local subsidiary through valuable insights and high‑quality engagement.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the local entity's business model, strategy, and financial wallet to identify and pursue opportunities.
- Maintain a strong and consistent calling intensity to ensure proactive and responsive client coverage within the country.
- Focus strongly on the origination and execution of top revenue wallet opportunities.
- Autonomously drive strategic processes and guide junior team members, while actively fostering strong, collaborative partnerships across coverage, product, and senior stakeholders to optimize relationship outcomes.
- Proactively work within the network and internal partners to deliver the best of Citi to its customers.
2. In‑Country Origination & Coverage
- Drive in‑country wallet share growth for a portfolio of key subsidiary clients, maximizing Citi's penetration in the local market.
- Lead with solutions tailored to the local market, leveraging country and sector insights while aligning with the client's global parent strategy.
- Manage the local client pipeline effectively and collaborate with in‑country product specialists to deliver banking solutions.
3. Local Strategy & Credit
- Align account activities with local and global strategic initiatives, including country or product‑specific campaigns, wallet sizing, and corridor plays.
- Contribute to the development of local market strategy and product development initiatives.
- Maintain strong credit knowledge focusing on the credit needs of the local subsidiary.
- Assist in escalations from the Client Manager.
Development Value
- Development of commercial, origination, and relationship management skills across the full Citi product range (particularly Services, Solutions and Markets) for local subsidiaries of multinational corporate clients.
- Deepening of knowledge in local market dynamics, economic trends, regulatory environments, and credit risk assessment.
- Broadening of coordination skills by collaborating with in‑country product specialists, client managers, and global coverage teams (PAMs, RAMs).
- Pathway to senior relationship management or corporate banking leadership roles within the global franchise.
Knowledge / Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in corporate or commercial banking, with a proven track record in relationship management and sales.
- Deep understanding of the local market, economic trends, and regulatory environment.
- Strong credit understanding and risk assessment skills.
- Strong knowledge of corporate banking products, particularly Services, Solutions and Markets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. An MBA, CFA, or other advanced degree is a plus.
- Demonstrable ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; speaking and writing in Dutch is a plus.
