Job summary

Waldom Electronics is seeking a Network Administrator in Rockford, IL to ensure availability, performance, security, and resilience of our network infrastructure. You will manage LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, firewalls, and cloud networking to support global operations.

You will provide Tier 2 and 3 support, monitor health, resolve incidents, and participate in after-hours on-call. Collaboration with cybersecurity, service desk, vendors, and MSPs is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or 3+ years’ experience in enterprise network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, NAT, routing, switching, firewalls, wireless networking.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, administer, monitor, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, APs, and related infrastructure.
• Support LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, and internet connectivity.
• Design and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, security groups, QoS, and BGP/OSPF where applicable.
• Manage site-to-site and remote VPNs; support cloud networks and hybrid connectivity.
• Maintain resilience with redundancy, HA, and load balancing.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support; document work in ITSM system.
