Job summary

ByteDance is seeking a server and storage hardware architect and technology planning expert in Los Angeles to join the Data Center Development team. You will lead acquisition of co-location and connectivity services and manage supplier relationships to support edge and backbone networks.

You will negotiate commercial terms, develop long-term acquisition strategies, and collaborate with Strategy, Planning, Engineering, Legal, and Finance to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a business, technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years experience in infrastructure industry for acquisition, sourcing, engineering, finance or other relevant technical and business functions.
• Work experience with Edge Co-locations, Data Center, and/or ISP/Carrier/CDN/IX providers in NA and LATAM.
• Experience in commercial and contractual negotiations.
• Project management, concise communication with cross functional stakeholders, and analytical reasoning.
• Office Applications, Jira and other contract platforms.

Responsibilities

• Securing infrastructure resources from commercial angle to fulfill traffic demand.
• Lead commercial and technical negotiations with candidate suppliers.
• Negotiate and implement complex supplier agreements and contracts with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and manage acquisition strategies for short, mid and long term.
• Collaborate across Strategy, Planning, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and others.
• Conduct market research, build market intelligence, and onboard qualified suppliers.
• Maintain relationships and develop strategic partnerships with suppliers.
