Job summary

Ascendis Pharma is a dynamic biopharmaceutical company seeking a Medical Scientist to serve as SME on product-related clinical data, disease state insights, and emerging trends. You will help shape global medical strategy and lead execution of selected tactics within Global Medical Affairs.

The role requires MD/PhD/PharmD or equivalent, 5+ years in pharma (Medical Affairs preferred), and strong ability to interpret clinical data.

Qualifications

• MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent degree.
• 5+ years in pharma industry, preferably within Medical Affairs.
• Strong ability to interpret and articulate clinical data.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of compliant medical affairs practices.
• Biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience from local and global roles, with understanding of drug development and Medical Affairs.

Responsibilities

• Define medical narrative and strategic imperatives and outline a roadmap for delivery across Ascendis Pharma portfolio.
• Leverage medical expertise to ensure relevance and rigor of medical strategy.
• Develop an integrated plan for generating evidence (real-world data, observational studies, phase IV, etc.).
• Filter and communicate insights on disease areas, landscape, and unmet needs.
• Maintain knowledge of literature and landscape trends within therapeutic areas.
• Support medical education strategy and country readiness.
• Support congress activities and symposia.
• Cultivate relationships with thought leaders and centers in rare endocrinology.
• Share insights with healthcare professionals through meetings and conferences.
• Plan and execute advisory boards and KOL meetings.
• Provide expert medical input to support reimbursement and regulatory activities.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with country medical teams aligning with global strategy.
