Job summary

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc (US) is seeking an Executive Medical Director, Clinical Development to shape high-level strategies for povetacicept renal programs. You will lead cross-functional teams across Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Clinical Operations to optimize study design and execution, while driving innovation in development approaches.

The role requires extensive global clinical research experience, regulatory engagement, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• MD, DO or equivalent ex-US medical degree.
• 15 years pharmaceutical industry experience including time managing clinical trials and/or clinical development programs.
• 7 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical development recommendations to project teams, including optimizing study design and conduct for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide guidance to multidisciplinary development teams on global plans and regulatory strategy.
• Review study protocols and Investigator Brochures; monitor safety and data reviews.
• Interface with international regulatory authorities to support development objectives.
• Ensure compliance with ICH, GCP and Vertex SOPs; lead or mentor staff as applicable.
