Job summary

AstraZeneca in Gaithersburg, MD is seeking a Global Medical Affairs Leader to drive external engagement for GU/Radioconjugates. You will translate clinical evidence into strategic conversations with key congresses and medical voices.

Reporting to the Franchise Head, you will orchestrate cross‑functional medical plans, ensure compliant scientific exchange, and travel 10–20% to advance the oncology portfolio.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent medical/scientific qualifications.
• At least 4 years of pharma/life sciences experience.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in multi-stakeholder management.
• Experience delivering medical plans and strategic medical initiatives.
• Ability to influence without authority.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Understanding of drug development and outcomes research / payer access.
• Willingness to travel 10-20%.

Responsibilities

• External Engagement Strategy: Develop a cohesive Global GU/Radioconjugates Engagement Strategy.
• Congress Orchestration: Coordinate congress engagement planning to maximize impact.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Oversee external engagement planning for major congresses.
• Scientific Exchange Leadership: Deliver global scientific exchange activities and events.
• Compliance Stewardship: Ensure activities comply with AZ standards and regulations.
• Stakeholder Partnership and Influence: Align priorities with indication leads and GMALs.
• Insight Generation and Continuous Improvement: Capture insights and feed back into plans.
• Measurement and Reporting: Define objectives, track outcomes, and report to senior leaders.
