Job summary

Lockheed Martin seeks an accomplished communications leader to drive enterprise strategies for major initiatives, including thought leadership and 21st Century Security priorities. You will coordinate media relations, craft executive materials, and serve as a spokesperson when needed.

Role requires building cross-functional partnerships, providing strategic counsel, and managing multiple projects with travel as needed. Bethesda proximity preferred, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of professional experience; or 8 years with related Master’s degree.
• Significant communications experience in aerospace/defense, publicly traded company, government or B2G public relations or communications agency / consultancy, preferred.
• Experience in media relations, corporate communications, executive communications, thought leadership and strategy development.
• Ability to travel as required.
• Experience across corporate affairs and executive stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support enterprise communications strategies for initiatives and thought leadership.
• Coordinate enterprise corporate media relations across Business Areas.
• Create materials for executives: speeches, remarks, op-eds, talking points, briefing materials.
• Build relationships and pitch to journalists; serve as media spokesperson when needed.
• Collaborate with internal partners to align strategy and outcomes.
• Provide strategic communications counsel to executives.
• Manage multiple workstreams and projects simultaneously.
