Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Maintenance Principal Engineer to lead Mechanical Integrity and Maintenance Excellence across global sites. You will guide inspection programs, reliability improvements, and lifecycle optimization while partnering with site teams to implement standards and governance.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement in maintenance practices within a hybrid work model from multiple U.S. locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of engineering, maintenance, reliability, inspection, or mechanical integrity experience in process industries.
• Experience with fixed equipment and piping mechanical integrity, maintenance engineering, or inspection programs.
• Knowledge of API/API 510, 570, 653, 580/581, ASME, NBIC and related inspection/repair practices.
• Experience in Process Safety Management environments and mechanical integrity requirements.
• Ability to lead complex technical work and influence across locations.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% to manufacturing sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for Mechanical Integrity and Maintenance Excellence programs across multiple asset types.
• Develop and govern inspection, testing, preventive maintenance, and lifecycle management standards.
• Lead risk-based inspection, corrosion reviews, and fitness-for-service evaluations.
• Support Process Safety Management by identifying critical equipment and documenting activities.
• Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for failures.
• Advance maintenance excellence through work management and predictive maintenance practices.
• Collaborate with site teams to assess program maturity and close performance gaps.
• Provide guidance on API, ASME, NBIC, and related standards.
• Support digital systems and analytics used for maintenance and reliability.
