Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2027 intern for its Global Supply Chain team in Santa Clara, CA. The 12-week program supports Supplier Account Managers, Procurement/Materials Managers, and Supply Chain Analytics.

Interns will perform RFQs, supplier profiling, cost-reduction analysis, and MRP-related activities while gaining hands-on experience in supplier management and analytics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master's in SCM or related major.
• Good academic standing; GPA 3.0+ preferred.
• Ability to solve problems creatively and analytically.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient data analytics and advanced Excel; able to work with multiple data sets.

Responsibilities

• Complete supplier RFQs and support supplier profiles for management review.
• Assist with obsolescence compliance and supplier training.
• Prepare supplier profiles for management presentations.
• Perform part analytics to classify parts by commodity family.
• Engage with suppliers on cost reduction opportunities.
• Support Supplier Account Managers in meetings and quarterly business reviews.
• Execute Buyer tasks: create, reschedule, and cancel POs per MRP.
• Call suppliers to check material status and expedite delivery.
• Resolve Accounts Payable issues related to PO invoices and receipts.
• Identify alternate sources for critical materials.
• Provide material delivery updates to factory stakeholders and leadership.
• Mitigate excess POs and inventory through supplier negotiations.
• Perform MRP and spend analytics for process optimization.
