Job summary

Sunoco seeks a Marine Scheduler to support supply and trading operations by managing barge and vessel movements domestically and internationally. The role involves forecasting demand, optimizing supply logistics, managing terminals across the US, and ensuring compliance with import/export requirements.

The candidate will work with Sunoco’s Trading team, Sales, other Schedulers, and external counterparties to deliver cost-effective supply plans and contingency strategies, leveraging market

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics/business or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience in vessel/barge scheduling.
  • Available during international business operations and be on call 24/7.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills (both written and verbal), computer skills, and analytical skills
  • Thrives in cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Responsibilities

  • Inventory management through demand planning and scheduling shipments for assigned terminals.
  • Manages and assists others with the overall supply chain and logistics strategy.
  • Resolves product supply issues due to planned or unplanned events.
  • Ensure import/export documentation is completed, filed and communicated.
  • Provide accounting accruals for marine expenses/liabilities at month end.
  • Ensure solutions align with organizational objectives.
  • Interface with industry counterparts and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Collaborate with trading to ensure adequate product purchases/sales to meet supply needs.
  • Optimize the product supply chain to reduce logistics costs by evaluating alternative routes.
  • Ensure scheduling processes are timely and correct.
  • Track and evaluate financial/expense metrics related to marine moves.
  • Primary contact for all vessel-related operations.
  • Ensure compliance with vessel/barge marine operations.
  • Quality assurance by coordinating product testing and approving marine quality.
  • Maintain and develop metrics, reports, and voyage logs.
  • Consolidate shipping requirements to define lowest-cost solutions.
  • Provide monthly performance and develop marine budget.
  • Work with Manager to develop long-term business opportunities.
