Job summary

Nexteer Automotive is seeking a Global Engineer, Industrial Data Science to develop and deploy analytics across global manufacturing operations. You will combine manufacturing knowledge with statistics, Python, ML, and data visualization to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing analytics, quality analytics, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, automation, data science, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience applying data analysis to manufacturing, quality, launch, or operational improvement problems.
• Proficiency with Python for data prep, analysis, visualization, automation, and model development.
• Working proficiency with SQL and relational data concepts.
• Experience developing BI solutions using Power BI and advanced Excel.
• Fluent English with ability to explain analytics to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing, quality, maintenance, process, and traceability data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics for scrap reduction, throughput, OEE, and reliability.
• Build and validate statistical and ML models for anomaly detection, defect prediction, and maintenance.
• Develop reusable Python-based analytics workflows and data products for manufacturing applications.
• Acquire, clean, transform, and connect data from PLCs, SCADA, MES, traceability, ERP, sensors, and engineering databases.
