Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Global Manufacturing Digitalization team in Wendell, NC. You will build and maintain data pipelines, develop Snowflake data models, and implement SQL/Python-based transformations to enable scalable manufacturing analytics.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, operations, and technology teams to improve production transparency, governance, and KPI-driven insights. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
• 1+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, software development, or related discipline.
• Working knowledge of SQL demonstrated through coursework, internships, projects, or professional experience.
• Foundational understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience or familiarity with Python and data transformation techniques.
• Understanding of data quality practices, testing methodologies, and troubleshooting.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% worldwide.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines for a global manufacturing network collecting data from multiple source systems.
• Develop cloud-based data models, tables, and schemas in Snowflake to support reporting and analytics.
• Design, implement, and test data transformation logic using SQL, Python, dbt.
• Monitor and improve data quality through validation and testing.
• Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to deliver data solutions that improve transparency and decision-making.
• Document pipelines, models, interfaces, and transformation logic for maintainability.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions and validate results with stakeholders.
• Contribute to data architecture, performance optimization, and governance initiatives.
