  • Proven experience negotiating transportation contracts and managing logistics service providers.
  • Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business, Operations, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility in global logistics / supply chain, with at least 5 years managing project cargo in heavy industries (e.g, oil & gas, mining, structural steel)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global logistics strategy aligned with company growth and project requirements.
  • Establish logistics standards, processes, KPIs, and performance-management systems across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs, improve delivery times, and increase supply chain reliability.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply chain disruptions, geopolitical risks, transportation capacity constraints, and other logistical challenges.
  • Oversee domestic and international transportation, including ocean, air, rail, trucking, intermodal, and specialized/heavy-haul transportation.
  • Manage the transportation of construction materials, equipment, machinery, fabricated components, and project cargo.
  • Negotiate freight rates, contracts, service agreements, and carrier commitments for ocean and trucking to mitigate freight market volatility.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, third-party logistics providers, and other logistics partners.
  • Ensure appropriate carrier selection based on cost, service, safety, capacity, and project requirements.
  • Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delays, damage, shortages, and delivery issues.
  • Lead international shipping and import/export activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customs, trade, transportation, and import/export regulations.
  • Oversee documentation, customs clearance, duties, tariffs, certificates of origin, commercial invoices, bills of landing, and other required documentation.
  • Partner with legal, finance, procurement, and project teams to manage international trade risks and requirements.
  • Stay current on changes in international trade regulations, tariffs, sanctions, customs requirements, and transportation regulations.
  • Develop logistics plans for major construction and industrial projects.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules with project managers, construction managers, procurement teams, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Ensure materials and equipment arrive at project sites in accordance with construction schedules.
  • Coordinate oversized, overweight, specialized, and time-sensitive shipments when required.
  • Identify logistics constraints early in the project lifecycle and develop solutions before they affect project execution.
  • Establish project-specific logistics budgets and monitor actual performance against budget.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor the global logistics team.
  • Establish clear responsibilities, performance expectations, and accountability.
  • Build a high-performing logistics organization capable of supporting multiple simultaneous projects and geographic regions.
  • Promote a culture of safety, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and customer service.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, project management, finance, operations, estimating, engineering, and executive leadership.

Position Summary

Tarsco Construction Corp. is seeking an experienced and strategic Global Logistics Manager to manage the company’s global logistics, transportation, and freight.

The Global Logistics Manager will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive global logistics strategy that supports Tarsco Construction Corp.’s construction projects, field operations, procurement activities, and international supply requirements. This position will oversee the movement of equipment, materials, components, and other critical resources across domestic and international markets while ensuring cost efficiency, reliability, compliance, and on‑time delivery. The focus will be on strategic planning and execution of moving breakbulk project cargo, such as tank steel plates, fabricated components and construction equipment from domestic warehouses to construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a global logistics strategy aligned with company growth and project requirements.
  • Establish logistics standards, processes, KPIs, and performance‑management systems across the organization.

  • Proven experience negotiating transportation contracts and managing logistics service providers.
  • Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
