Job summary

LHH is seeking an experienced Director of Global Logistics to lead end-to-end logistics for OE and replacement products in a complex, multi-national environment. You will own international freight, warehousing, distribution, and 3PL partnerships, driving optimization and compliance across systems.

The role requires 15+ years in international logistics and 10+ years in leadership, with strong collaboration, analytics, and negotiation skills. Ohio-based role with significant strategic impact.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in international freight forwarding, warehouse operations with supply chain knowledge, logistics, and/or relevant logistics sales experience.
• 10+ years of managerial experience within a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Demonstrated international logistics and freight forwarding experience required.
• Experience managing large-scale, full freight operations, including carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, distribution, inventory management, and transportation.
• Experience with logistics systems, particularly WMS and TMS.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in process improvement, system troubleshooting, and automation.
• Experience managing and negotiating logistics contracts, SOWs, and SLAs.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and international logistics requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience within automotive, tire, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end logistics operations across international and domestic transportation, warehousing, distribution, customs clearance, and final delivery.
• Develop and execute logistics strategies aligned with broader supply chain and business objectives.
• Oversee logistics operations supporting OE and replacement/distribution business.
• Manage large-scale freight operations, including carrier and freight forwarder strategy, performance, and cost.
• Lead and develop logistics managers and specialists, ensuring accountability and strong operational performance.
• Partner with customers and internal teams to meet delivery schedules and service requirements.
• Manage logistics budgets, including transportation, warehousing, demurrage, detention, and handling costs.
• Identify freight optimization and cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining service levels.
• Manage relationships with global freight forwarders, carriers, and 3PL providers.
• Negotiate and manage 3PL agreements, statements of work, SLAs, rates, and performance expectations.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and applicable safety standards.
• Develop contingency plans to mitigate delays, capacity constraints, and supply chain disruptions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across logistics operations.
• Optimize and standardize logistics processes and systems, including WMS, TMS, and ERP integrations.
• Drive process automation and digitalization initiatives where applicable.
• Monitor KPIs including on-time delivery, cost efficiency, and service-level performance.
