Job summary

The Trade Desk, Inc. is seeking a Manager of GL Accounting to lead our lease and fixed asset accounting function.

You will manage a team of 5 and own global close processes, financial reporting, and disclosures related to leases and fixed assets, partnering across regions to ensure consolidation into US GAAP statements. The ideal candidate has deep technical accounting knowledge (ASC 842, ASC 360), strong people leadership, and experience with multinational lease/asset accounting, SEC reporting,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, including people management.
• CPA preferred; audit experience with a public accounting firm is a plus.
• Deep technical knowledge of ASC 842, ASC 360 and US GAAP reporting; ability to translate guidance into reporting.
• Experience with lease and/or fixed asset accounting at multinational or public company.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance, including Section 404.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to, Ventura, CA.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals responsible for global lease and fixed asset accounting, and related accounts.
• Own the month-end and quarter-end close process for lease and fixed asset accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Serve as global SME on lease accounting (ASC 842) and fixed asset/depreciation accounting; work with Technical Accounting on complex transactions.
• Support EMEA and APAC teams to review local lease and fixed asset activity and consolidate into US GAAP statements.
• Prepare and review disclosures for leases and fixed assets for 10-Q, 10-K, and SEC filings.
• Monitor new accounting standards and SEC guidance; assess impact to the Company.
• Partner with FP&A, Legal, Tax, Procurement on lease and asset transactions.
• Design and maintain internal controls over lease and fixed asset accounting per SOX 404.
• Interface with external auditors on technical accounting for leases and fixed assets.
• Drive process and system improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of close and reporting.
• Support ad hoc research, training, and projects including new standards implementations.
