Job Description

The Global Learning & Development Senior Manager is a senior, consultative leadership role within Global Learning & Development (L&D). This role connects enterprise strategy to learning, skills, and measurable business outcomes by ensuring learning investments are intentional, prioritized, and deliver clear value.

Operating beyond traditional intake or order‑taking models, this role partners closely with business and HR leaders to define the right problems to solve, identify critical skill and capability gaps, and shape learning and non‑learning solutions that improve performance at scale. The role serves as a primary integration point across strategy, analysis, design, delivery, governance, and measurement. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to influence decisions across a complex, matrixed enterprise.

Enterprise Strategy & Business Partnership
  • Partner with business leaders, HR, and L&D stakeholders to translate enterprise and area‑of‑responsibility strategies into prioritized learning and capability needs.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic partner, influencing decisions about where learning will and will not deliver value.
  • Anchor learning conversations in business outcomes, performance goals, and enterprise priorities rather than training requests.
  • Challenge solution‑first thinking and guide leaders toward learning, non‑learning, or blended approaches that address true performance needs.
Learning Strategy, Prioritization & Decision Making
  • Identify critical skills, capability gaps, and workforce implications using enterprise frameworks and data.
  • Reimagine learning and workflows with a digital, AI‑enabled mindset.
  • Shape high‑level learning strategies and solution approaches that are scalable, reusable, and aligned to enterprise standards.
  • Prioritize learning investments based on strategic value, skills impact, and expected outcomes.
  • Make and document clear go / no‑go recommendations when requests do not meet enterprise priorities or value thresholds.
  • Use data and insights to inform decisions to scale, redesign, optimize, or sunset learning solutions.
Team Leadership & Enterprise Integration
  • Lead and develop a team of learning consultants responsible for needs analysis, high‑level solution design, and strategic partnership with the business.
  • Establish and evolve global learning models, standards, practices, and ways of working that enable consistency, quality, and scale across the enterprise.
  • Serve as a primary integration point across strategy, analysis, design, delivery, governance, and measurement teams throughout the learning lifecycle.
  • Partner with internal and external design and delivery resources to ensure solutions align to enterprise standards and drive intended business outcomes.
Qualifications & Capabilities Required
  • Business & Strategic Acumen – Ability to connect learning decisions to enterprise strategy, performance priorities, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Consultative Partnership – Experience operating in consultative roles across learning strategy, talent, workforce transformation, performance improvement, or internal consulting contexts.
  • Influence Without Authority – Demonstrated ability to challenge thinking constructively and influence senior stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Learning & Human Centered Design – Strong capability in learning needs analysis, adult learning principles, and diagnosing root causes of performance gaps.
  • Data Analysis – Comfort using data, evidence, and measurement to guide prioritization and recommendations.
  • Enterprise Navigation – Proven ability to operate effectively across complex, matrixed organizations and stakeholder groups.
  • Digital & AI Enablement – Turns technology into a practical enabler of business results and innovation.
Education
  • 4 year Bachelors Degree (Preferred)
Experience
  • Experience working in skills‑based or capability‑based learning models.
  • Familiarity with enterprise learning ecosystems and scaled delivery approaches.
  • Background in learning strategy, performance improvement, or workforce transformation.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in learning, talent, or related fields.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This job has supervisory duties.
Education & Experience (in lieu)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Skills

Client Consulting, Employee Supervision, Learning and Development (L&D) Strategy, Stakeholder Management, Strategic Planning
