Job summary

Lilly in Indianapolis seeks the Global Lead, Pain Early Development to guide strategy for the Neuroscience Pain portfolio and lead early-phase clinical development from discovery through Phase 2. You will work across R&D, Medical Affairs, and regulatory bodies to advance differentiated pain therapies with scientific rigor.

Lead governance, integrate biomarkers, drive portfolio delivery, and influence cross-functional teams to align with business priorities and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Medical Doctor must be board eligible or certified in a medical specialty relevant to the role.
• Non-U.S. trained physicians must meet LCME requirements for education and training.
• 12+ years of progressive analgesic clinical development experience.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the integrated clinical development strategy for the Pain early-phase portfolio (discovery through Phase 2).
• Establish governance for go/no-go decisions and stage-gate reviews.
• Provide enterprise-wide visibility into Pain portfolio health and gaps.
• Partner with Neuroscience, LRL, and Medicines Development Unit to align clinical strategy with business objectives.
• Drive integration of tissue biomarkers and diagnostics into Pain development programs.
