Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a global electrical engineering leader to design and deliver electrical systems for BCP machines and attachments. You will own electronic architecture, schematics, wiring harnesses, and design-controlled components.

You will lead NPI and CPI programs, manage supplier relationships in the US and UK, and drive product quality, cost reductions, and manufacturability while mentoring cross-border teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields.
• Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational, tactical, and strategic planning.
• Knowledge of decision-making processes and critical-thinking tools and techniques.
• Knowledge of electrical technology and application methods; ability to solve significant technical challenges.
• Effective listening and communication skills.
• Understanding of customer and market priorities.
• Knowledge of people-management processes; ability to lead teams and address performance and workplace-conflict issues.
• Ability to collaborate with people from different countries and cultures.
• Ability to influence decisions through technical expertise.
• Electrical system development experience in on- or off-highway equipment.
• Leadership experience creating and maintaining processes used to design, develop, and manufacture electrical systems, components, and technologies.
• Ability to work onsite five days per week.
• Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
• Must be able to satisfy Caterpillar’s drug-screen requirement.

Responsibilities

• Lead a global engineering organization responsible for electrical systems and components for BCP machines and attachments.
• Own electronic architecture, schematics, wiring harnesses, and design-controlled electronic and electric components.
• Lead execution of NPI programs, CPI projects, current-product maintenance, factory support, aftermarket, production obsolescence management, and supplier CPPD.
• Own the Cat Technology relationship for BCP electrical systems and components.
• Translate technology plans into executable electrical architecture, component, and systems plans.
• Collaborate with Product Directors, Engineering Managers, NPI Managers, technology groups, product engineering teams, and procurement teams.
• Develop engineering expertise and talent in electrical systems and component engineering.
• Develop and enhance agency and Statement of Work relationships.
• Own onsite supplier relationships for harness co-development in the US and UK.
• Plan, direct, and lead engineering staff and activities.
• Ensure projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies and objectives.
• Improve product quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage engineering product, manufacturing-process, and quality issues from concept through end of life-cycle
