Job summary

Merck seeks a Director, Global Launch Excellence Strategic Capabilities Leader to advance our Launch Excellence strategy, capabilities, and operating model across oncology, immunology, vaccines, and more. You will lead a global team and partner with US Market leaders to modernize launch preparation and ensure scalable readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in Global & US Launch Excellence or related biopharmaceutical functions.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership.
• Proven success in enterprise capability development or transformation initiatives.
• Deep expertise in launch planning, readiness, commercialization, and cross‑functional execution.
• Experience designing and implementing capability frameworks, processes, tools, and governance models.
• Proven people leadership and development of high‑performing teams.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise‑wide change.
• Experience with technology‑enabled capabilities and data‑driven solutions.
• Global mindset and collaboration across geographies and markets.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the long‑term vision and roadmap for Launch Excellence capabilities.
• Modernize harmonized frameworks and standards across Global, Regional, and Market levels.
• Serve as enterprise owner for launch readiness capabilities and governance.
• Assess industry trends, AI capabilities, and external benchmarks to modernize the model.
• Provide strategic leadership for LPT, playbooks, and Launch Excellence Library.
• Prioritize and implement new tools and methodologies to accelerate value realization.
• Drive collaboration with Business Units, Global Brand Teams, Regions, and Markets.
• Represent Launch Excellence in governance forums and reviews.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing capability team and cultivate knowledge sharing.
